“The first inspiration for this perfume was a beautiful trip to Wadi Darbat, in the South of Oman. It is a unique place in the Middle East because all the Monsoons coming from India are finishing their flow here. Instead of being dry and desert-like, as one would expect, this region is lush and very diversified from a botanical point of view: large rivers, big trees and a peculiar treasure belonging to this region, the Sidr Tree.
The Sidr Tree has nothing in common with cedarwood tree. It is an ancient tree from the Ziziphusfamily, which produce beautiful red fruits and amazing flowers. Thanks to these flowers, local bees produce the most rich, exclusive, characteristic honey you can ever imagine.
It is extremely well known under the name Yemen Sidr Honey. I had the chance to spend a few days there with a botanist and a “Incense farmer”, and I came back from this trip with the inspiration for Nektar. I created a perfume which captures the different facets of Sidr Honey and its natural surroundings.”
