Terms and Conditions
1. Placing an Order – To purchase a product listed on the website, you need to follow the onscreen prompts after clicking on the item of interest. You can check and correct any input errors in your order until you submit the order on the “View Basket” page.
2. Order Acknowledgement – After placing the order, you will receive an acknowledgment email with your order summary and reference number. However, this does not mean that your order has been accepted.
3. Order Acceptance -The Alternative Beautyreserves the right to decline your order without liability to you or anyone else.
4. Binding Contract – The order is considered a binding contract from the point of dispatch from their warehouse. Before dispatch, they reserve the right to cancel the contract. If cancelled, they will notify you in writing and refund any transactions within 10 working days.
5. Order Acceptance Confirmation – All orders are subject to acceptance by The Alternative Beauty, and confirmation is given through a Dispatch Confirmation email.
6. Product Confirmation – The contract will only relate to the products confirmed in the Dispatch Confirmation email. They are not obligated to supply any other products that may have been part of your order unless confirmed in a separate dispatch confirmation.
7. Verification Checks – Large value orders may be subject to further verification checks, such as proof of ID.
8. Order Cancellation -The Alternative Beauty may be unable to process your order and may cancel it if: the product you ordered is out of stock or discontinued or if there is an issue with payment authorization on your credit/debit card.
I. BULK ORDERS:
- The company has agreements with major brand houses that include clauses prohibiting the resale of fragrance products
- If The Alternative Beauty suspects that customers are buying large numbers of items for resale purposes, they reserve the right to cancel such orders before dispatching the items.
II. DELIVERY:
1. Delivery Options -Products will be delivered in accordance with the chosen delivery option specified during the order checkout process.
2. Single Delivery – Whenever possible, all products in an order will be delivered together in one delivery.
3. Delivery Address – The products will be delivered directly to the delivery address specified in the order. If there is an issue with the delivery address and The Alternative Beauty cannot dispatch the order, they will contact the customer. If there is no response from the customer within 7 days, the company reserves the right to cancel the order.
4. Delivery to Multiple Addresses – It is not possible to deliver items from the same order to multiple addresses. Deliveries are made to the specified delivery address only, and the company is not responsible for any additional carrying or positioning of the products.
5. Deliveries to Specific Locations – For deliveries to workplaces, hotels, educational facilities, shared accommodation, and self-storage units, the company will not be held liable if the delivery is signed for by reception, concierge, flatmate, etc. Tracking references are provided to customers to monitor delivery progress.
6. Parcel Returns – If parcels are returned to The Alternative Beauty by Royal Mail or Courier Services for various reasons (e.g., addressee gone away, inaccessible, unknown, uncalled for, no access to property, no such address), the refund will be issued minus any applicable delivery fees.
7. International Delivery – At present, the company does not deliver internationally due to courier restrictions.
8. Delivery Information – Customers can find more information about delivery times, charges, and destinations on the delivery page of the website.
III. RISK AND OWNERSHIP:
1. Responsibility – Once the products are delivered, they become the customer’s responsibility.
2. Liability – Except for products incorrectly delivered or delivered damaged/faulty, the company does not accept liability for loss, damage, or destruction of the items after delivery.
3. Visible Signs of Damage or Tampering – If the package is delivered with visible signs of damage or tampering, the customer should sign the courier’s paperwork, accordingly, retain all packaging, and inform The Alternative Beauty via email at info@thealternativebeauty.co.uk as soon as possible, attaching pictures of the packaging. This will allow the company to make a valid claim for damages or breakages.
4. Transit Damages – While the company ensures that all packages are dispatched in good condition, damages may occur during transit. Following the specified steps (a) to (c) will facilitate a speedy claim request.
IV. TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK ITEMS:
1. Refunds for Out of Stock Items – If an item is out of stock at the time of order placement (due to unprecedented demand), the company will refund the amount for the item and any associated services, such as delivery charges.
2. Partial Shipments – If multiple items are ordered, and some items are temporarily out of stock (due to unprecedented demand), the company will send the items that are currently in stock and refund the amount for the items not currently available.

1. Accuracy – The company takes reasonable care to ensure that all details, prices, and descriptions of website products are accurate at the time when the information was entered into their system.
2. Updates – While efforts are made to keep the website up-to-date and accurate, there may be rare occasions when the information on the website (including product descriptions, stock, and pricing) at a certain time may not reflect the exact position at the point of order placement.
3. Free Gifts -Free gifts with purchase are subject to availability. In some cases, free gifts may be advertised but are no longer available, and the company reserves the right to offer no replacement item.
4. Illustrative Purposes – All product photography is for illustrative purposes only, and the actual item may vary in colour, design, and product size.
VII. PRICE AND PAYMENT:
1. Online Exclusives – Most prices, discounts, and offers are online exclusives and not available in physical stores.
2. Price Quotation – The prices of products are quoted on the website.
3. VAT and Delivery Costs – Prices include VAT but exclude delivery costs, which will be added to the total amount due when selecting a delivery service.
4. Price Changes – Prices are subject to change at any time, but this will not affect orders for which a Dispatch Confirmation has been sent.
5. Payment Methods – Payments can be made using most major UK registered credit or debit cards, or PayPal, by completing the relevant details on the “checkout” page.
6. Card Authorization – By using a credit or debit card to pay for the order, customers confirm that the card being used is theirs. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the card issuer refuses to authorize payment, The Alternative Beauty will not accept the order and will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
7. Secure Payment – Payments made on the website are secure due to the payment gateway system that does not store payment information.
8. No Phone Orders– Due to security measures, the company does not take any orders and/or payment information over the phone.
VIII. LIABILITY:
1. Limited Liability – The company accepts no liability for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or for any business losses (including loss of profits, contracts, goodwill, opportunity, and similar losses).
2. Exceptions – The liability limitations do not apply to death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
3. Statutory Legal Rights – Nothing in this section affects your statutory legal rights.
4. Events Outside Reasonable Control – The company will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of obligations caused by events outside their reasonable control.
IX. DISCOUNT CODES:
1. Restrictions – Discount codes are restricted to one use per household. Multiple uses of the same discount code may result in order cancellations and refunds.
2. Student Discounts – Student discounts apply to online purchases only and cannot be used with in-store purchases.
3. Single Discount Code – Only one discount code can be applied per basket at checkout.
X. OTHER:
1. Invalid Provisions – If any provision of the Terms & Conditions is declared invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, it will be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions will remain in force.
2. Changes to Terms & Conditions -The Alternative Beauty has the right to revise and amend the Terms & Conditions periodically and without prior notice, but any such change will not affect previous purchases.
3. Right Enforcement – Failure to enforce a right does not result in the waiver of that right. Customers cannot assign or transfer their rights under the Terms & Conditions.
4. Applicable Law and Disputes – English law applies to the Terms & Conditions, and any dispute will be dealt with by the English courts unless the customer is a resident in another part of the United Kingdom, in which case the applicable law in that part of the United Kingdom will apply for any dispute.
5. Sale Products – Some sale products may have a maximum quantity restriction per delivery address.
COMPETITIONS & PROMOTIONS
1. Eligibility – Prize draws are open to all residents of the UK, except employees of The Alternative Beauty, the promoter, their immediate families, and anyone else connected with the creation and administration of the promotion.
2. Prize Details – Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable, and no cash alternatives will be offered. The Alternative Beauty reserves the right to substitute the prize for another prize of equal value.
3. Purchase Requirement – In most cases, no purchase is necessary to enter the competitions unless otherwise stated in the promotional activity.
4. Entry and Privacy Policy – By entering the prize draw, the entrant agrees to be bound by the rules and any other requirements set out in the promotional material accompanying the promotion. The entrant also agrees to the terms of The Alternative Beauty’s Privacy Policy.
5. Winner Notification – Winners will be notified by email within 1 month of the end of the promotion. Winners have 5 business days to respond to the email, or another winner will be drawn.
6. Publicity and Use of Information – By entering the promotion, the winner(s) consent to any publicity generated as a result of the promotion and the use of their information on websites, magazines, or mobile services at any time.
7. Final Decision – The Site Editor’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Odds of Winning – The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
9. Entry Limit – Only 1 entry per person is allowed, and spammers will be disqualified.
10. Proof of Entry – The Alternative Beauty will not accept responsibility for loss through technical fault or incomplete, illegible, or other damaged entries. Proof of entry is not automatically proof of receipt.
11. Winner Details – Details of the winner(s) can be obtained by sending an email to info@thealternativebeauty.co.uk, within 21 days of the closing date of the promotion.
